A disturbing incident has occurred in Uhuezeoke Okpanku in Aninri Local Government Area, Enugu state where a young man identified as Godwin Benjamin (Nwa Onunta) was shot by suspected land grabbers from Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area. The incident occured earlier today. The victim has been rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

This incident comes on the heels of a similar shooting two weeks ago, in which a young boy from Ihuibe, who was with a group of hunters, was also shot. Fortunately, his life was spared when he shouted “Ihuibe!” repeatedly, alerting the attackers to his identity.

Recall that series of assaults have been launched against Okpanku community by unknown assailants suspected to be land grabbers from Uburu in Ohaozara local Govt Area, Ebonyi State since December 2024 till date.
