The Bauchi State Government has ordered the immediate closure of all schools, including primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, due to growing insecurity in the northern part of the country. This decision was made after extensive consultations and in response to recent Boko Haram attacks and bandit abductions in neighboring states.
The government recognizes the inconvenience this may cause but prioritizes the safety of students, teachers, and school communities. Governor Bala Mohammed emphasized that protecting children is a moral responsibility and urged parents, guardians, and stakeholders to remain calm and cooperative.
The government is working with security agencies to address the situation and ensure normal academic activities resume as soon as possible. Citizens are also urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities around their communities.
