The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) is hosting the sixth session of the Steering Committee for the Cooperative Development of Aeronautical Meteorological Services Project in the Africa-Indian Ocean (AFI) Region, known as CODEVMET-AFI. Organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the three-day event began on October 6 and will conclude on October 8 in Abuja.

In a keynote address, Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, represented by Engr. Godwin Balang, praised ICAO’s commitment to advancing aeronautical meteorological services in the AFI Region. He expressed confidence that the initiative will elevate service standards across the region.
The meeting features a diverse lineup of participants, including senior officials from NCAA, Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), ICAO’s WACAF and ESAF offices, and representatives from various Civil Aviation Authorities, including those from Togo, Kenya, Senegal, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, ASECNA, and Senegal’s National Civil Aviation Agency.
