In a stunning upset, Morocco defeated two-time champions Argentina 2-0 in the FIFA U-20 World Cup Final on Sunday, played in Chile. Yassir Zabiri led the charge, scoring both goals and propelling the Atlas Lions to their historic victory.

Zabiri’s masterful free kick in the 12th minute and composed finish in the 29th minute sealed Morocco’s triumph. The team’s solid defense and Ibrahim Gomis’s exceptional goalkeeping frustrated Argentina’s attacks.

Despite dominating possession, Argentina struggled to break through Morocco’s resolute defense. The South Americans’ late surge was thwarted by Gomis’s crucial saves and Morocco’s tactical discipline.

Morocco’s coach, Mohamed Ouahbi, praised his team’s resilience and clinical finishing. The victory marks a remarkable achievement for the Atlas Lions, showcasing their potential on the global stage.”

Morocco becomes second African country to win under-20 world cup. Ghana won the championship in 2009 opening the way for other African countries to follow.
