Insecurity; Otukpo Community Protest over incessant killings

The residents of Otukpo in Benue South Senatorial district, have taken to the streets in protest against the rising cases of killings and kidnappings in the zone.

Our reporter gathered that the demonstrators, were seen along the road chanting “We no go gree!” they also blocked major roads, demanding urgent action from the government and security agencies to address the growing insecurity.

One of the protesters Daniel Oche, lamented the frequent attacks on Otukpo people, describing them as a “constant recurrence.”

He alleged that electricity is always cut off in the community before attack was launched in Idoma land.

“The protest, which has drawn a large crowd, has disrupted commercial activities in the town. Residents unanimously said the violence has forced many to flee their homes, while those who remain in the communities live in perpetual fear.
